**Who we are** By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud. This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life. **What you'll be doing** + Designing and deploying enterprise-grade storage and backup solutions. + Integrating storage systems with servers, networks, and applications. + Developing architectural blueprints and leading infrastructure projects. + Ensuring scalability, performance, and security alignment with business requirements. + Managing and optimizing SAN and NAS systems, including SAN switching. + Monitoring storage performance and fine-tuning configurations. + Ensuring data integrity and availability through industry best practices. + Developing and implementing backup strategies for data protection and rapid recovery. + Managing enterprise backup tools such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and CommVault. + Conducting regular disaster recovery tests to validate readiness and effectiveness. + Defining and enforcing security policies for storage and backup systems. + Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. + Performing security audits and vulnerability assessments. + Maintaining and testing disaster recovery and business continuity plans. + Ensuring reliability and effectiveness of backup and recovery processes. + Aligning storage and backup initiatives with organizational goals. + Mentoring and providing technical leadership to IT staff. + Promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. + Maintaining detailed documentation of designs, configurations, and procedures. + Providing regular updates to senior management on project status and system performance. **What you'll bring along** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. + Certified Storage Networking Expert (CSNE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS), or equivalent would be nice to have + Minimum 10 years of experience in storage and backup management, with a focus on architecture and enterprise-scale design. + Strong experience with SAN/NAS technologies (e.g., Brocade, Cisco, NetApp, Dell, HDS). + Proficiency in enterprise backup tools such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and CommVault. + Familiarity with storage management software and tools. + Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V. + Ability to develop and execute strategic infrastructure plans. + Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. + Awareness of emerging technologies and their business impact. + Knowledge of encryption, access controls, and security best practices. + Experience conducting audits and ensuring regulatory compliance. + Proven leadership and team collaboration skills. + Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. + Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. + Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus). **What’s in it for you** ✔ New beginnings can be a challenge.
