As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING , CONNECTED COMMERCE TECH, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

Execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems. Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and their applicability within existing systems and information architecture. Promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies by leading communities of practice across Software Engineering. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect. Collaborate with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment strategies using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure and services in AWS. Provide incident triaging, troubleshooting, and resolution support for AWS-based services and processes. Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms within your remit.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability. Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or Java/Spring Boot. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security. Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.). Practical cloud-native experience. Develop and maintain scripts for the creation, deployment, and maintenance of AWS infrastructure. Experience in managing and maintaining AWS-based services, particularly AWS Aurora Postgres, AWS ECS Fargate, and AWS Glue. Experience in Infrastructure as Code development and deployment using Terraform.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Exposure to Kubernetes and NoSQL databases. AWS Certifications. Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture. Experience in Reactive programming.
