The Back Office Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the financial back-office team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of transactions. This role combines team leadership, process management, and compliance oversight, ensuring that operational goals are met while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. The Team Leader plays a key role in driving efficiency, mentoring staff, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Lead, coach, and supervise the back-office team to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
• Monitor daily workflows, ensuring all transactions comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and validate complex or high-value transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Collaborate with other departments to address escalations and ensure smooth operational flow.
• Develop team members’ skills through training, feedback, and performance management.
• Provide regular reports to management on team performance, metrics, and operational issues.
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous learning.
Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field (required).
• Professional certifications (e.g., IFIC, Canadian Securities Course, CPA) are an asset
Experience:
• Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or back-office operations.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or team leader role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial products, mutual fund operations, and regulatory compliance.
