Job Title: Collections Representative
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Collections Representative with strong business-to-business experience and expertise in lien and bond claims. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to manage a high-volume portfolio and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Perform collection duties of accounts receivable for an assigned area.Complete and document daily collection calls and identify high-risk accounts, placing accounts in suspension within department guidelines.Responsible for timely dispute resolution and negotiation/payouts within department guidelines.Identify, document, and distribute disputes to the appropriate area for resolution, conducting conferences with sales or customers to resolve disputed items.Conduct monthly meetings to communicate the collection status of balances on assigned accounts with branch and company management.Prepare preliminary lien notices and bond claims that comply with state statutes to secure account receivable balances.File and record actual lien filings according to state statutes.Review open accounts receivable by project and sign legal documents waiving security rights when applicable.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities and prepare reports on performance and trends as needed.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance collection efficiency and effectiveness.Analyze collection data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of collection experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.At least 1 year of experience with the Texas Notice Process.At least 1 year of experience with lien releases and waivers.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of mechanic statutes and payment bond claim procedures.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Business-to-business collections experience.Experience with an AS400 system/tool is preferred.5+ years of experience is ideal.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and a commitment to excellent customer service.Work Environment
This role is located in a satellite office connected to our corporate headquarters. The team consists of seven collectors, each with an average tenure of over five years. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, and the team values professionalism and customer satisfaction. The dress code is professional.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.85/hr.
