Azure Cloud Engineer

The Azure Cloud Engineer is a skilled and proactive individual responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. This leadership role is critical to ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure that aligns with business goals.

The Azure Cloud Engineer combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

\n

• Scalable Cloud Architecture & Deployment
o Design and implement Azure-native infrastructure solutions
o Experience with Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage necessary for building high-scale data solutions
o Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data pipelines
o Migrate legacy business process and workloads to Azure with minimal disruption
o Optimize cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost

• Security & Compliance
o Implement Azure security best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, Defender)
o Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR)
o Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities using Azure Security Center

\n

• Automation & DevOps
o Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
o Automate infrastructure provisioning with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
o Integrate monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics

\n

• Operations & Support
o Implement and manage cost-control strategies using Azure Advisor, Reserved Instances, and budget alerts
o Monitor and tune cloud performance across compute, storage, and networking resources
o Troubleshoot performance issues and outages

\n

• Leadership & Strategy
o Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders
o Advise on cloud strategy, governance, and cost optimization
o Conduct capacity planning and usage forecasting to support business growth
o Stay current with Azure innovations and recommend adoption where appropriate

Qualifications Guidelines:
The Azure Cloud Engineer must demonstrate a solid grasp of modern Azure based data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines and have direct experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and Power BI. Strong soft skills such as problem-solving and communication, along with holding a relevant Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are also key. Education/Experience:

\n

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) strongly preferred
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, SQL, Python and scripting languages
