As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Digital Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectDesign, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions by thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve complex technical problemsPerform high-quality production code in Python and Java, and review and debug code authored by othersProactively anticipate, diagnose, and resolve technical challenges to keep systems running smoothlyLead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams—probing architectures, technical credentials, and integration fit within our existing information landscapeLeverage AWS services for scalable deploymentsExecute DevOps responsibilities such as container orchestration, deployments, and infrastructure management using Kubernetes
 

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, and Kubernetes (EKS), with a strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practicesProficiency in using Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment and management, ensuring scalable and reliable cloud environments7 plus years application development in in Python and/or Java, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for automation and application development3-4 years experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker, with a focus on continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesAbility to troubleshoot and resolve issues with applications deployed on EC2 and EKS, providing effective solutions to ensure high availability and performanceProven skills in platform-level automation, enabling streamlined operations and enhanced efficiency across cloud environmentsProactively anticipate, diagnose, and resolve technical challenges to keep systems running smoothly.
