In this position, you will contribute significantly to cloud‑focused development initiatives, taking ownership of smaller projects, guiding developers, and helping shape the technical direction of full‑stack cloud solutions. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on designing, coding, developer testing, and deploying cloud‑native applications using modern full‑stack technologies. Responsibilities • Lead smaller public sector and defence projects from design through deployment, demonstrating strong technical leadership and project management capabilities. • Guide and support Junior Developers, fostering their professional growth and improving team capability. • Contribute to defining development practices and shaping the technical vision of cloud applications delivered within IBM’s public sector and defence programmes. • Ensure all code produced meets high standards of quality, maintainability, and performance. • Address and resolve complex technical challenges, applying deep expertise in full‑stack cloud development. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Advanced full‑stack development skills, covering both front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back‑end development using languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Ruby. * Extensive hands‑on experience working with AWS cloud platforms and services, including deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes. * Proficient in using version control systems such as Git, with practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. * Exceptional problem‑solving abilities, demonstrated through effectively diagnosing and resolving complex engineering and architectural challenges. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
