At GDIT, people are our differentiator. GDIT is seeking a skilled **AWS Connect Systems Engineer** to design, implement, and maintain our **Amazon Connect** cloud contact center solutions. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of direct experience configuring, integrating, and supporting **Amazon Connect** , along with a strong background in AWS services and cloud architecture. The role will involve optimizing call flows, ensuring high availability, integrating with other AWS services, and leveraging conversational AI technologies such as Amazon Lex and Amazon Bedrock to enhance customer experience.
**HOW AN AWS CONNECT SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT**
- Design, configure, and maintain Amazon Connect environments, including contact flows, queues, routing profiles, prompts, and omnichannel capabilities.
- Integrate Amazon Connect with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, and Kinesis.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Develop and optimize self-service and automation workflows leveraging Amazon Lex for natural language understanding and Amazon Bedrock for generative AI enhancements.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to maintain high availability and scalability.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and alignment with best practices, including PCI-DSS and GDPR (if applicable).
- Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and training to technical teams and end users.
- Participate in agile sprint planning, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration sessions.
**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED**
● **Education:** Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
● **Required Experience:** 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience administering, configuring, integrating, and supporting Amazon Connect.
● **Required Clearance:** Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
● **Required Technical Skills:**
- Proven experience integrating Amazon Connect with AWS services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, Kinesis).
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Node.js, Java, or C#).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
**● Required Skills and Abilities:**
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and authentication (IAM policies, roles, permissions).
- Experience with contact center architecture, IVR design, and call routing strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
● **Preferred Skills:**
- Experience implementing conversational AI solutions using Amazon Lex.
- Experience leveraging Amazon Bedrock for AI-powered customer service enhancements.
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- Experience with multi-region Amazon Connect deployments.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
