AWS Cloud Architect – Infrastructure
Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for a Mid-Level AWS Cloud Architect to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and curious architect who is technically curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with developers, security teams, and senior architects. Your future duties and responsibilities:

   .    Design and support cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions using core AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, KMS).
.    Integrate AWS applications with Okta and Entra ID (Azure AD) for SSO, MFA, and identity federation.
.    Support the design and implementation of secure payment workflows using Clover Gateway or similar platforms.
.    Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
.    Assist in modernizing legacy applications and participating in cloud migration activities.
.    Collaborate with senior architects to refine cloud design standards and reusable patterns.
.    Support authentication/authorization flows using OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
.    Contribute to IAM best practices, role design, and access governance frameworks.
.    Troubleshoot identity integration issues across cloud and enterprise systems.
.    Assist in ensuring PCI-DSS compliance within cloud architectures.
.    Collaborate with application teams to integrate payment solutions into AWS-hosted services.
.    Participate in testing, transaction flow validation, and encryption/tokenization setup.
.    Develop infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK under guidance from senior staff.
.    Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements for AWS-based deployments.
.    Automate recurring tasks such as provisioning, deployments, and monitoring.
.    Apply AWS security best practices, encryption standards, and network segmentation.
.    Support implementation of logging, alerting, and observability tools (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, etc.).
.    Participate in architecture reviews and security assessments.
.    Work closely with developers, security engineers, product owners, and senior architects.
.    Provide technical insights during design sessions, sprint planning, and troubleshooting.
.    Prepare documentation including architectural diagrams, standards, and runbooks.
.    Assist senior architects in guiding architecture decisions across projects.
 

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

.    Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.
.    Requires 4 – 7 years of combined experience in cloud engineering, architecture, or solution implementation.
.    3+ years hands-on experience designing or operating solutions on AWS.
.    Experience integrating with Okta (SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning) and  Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for identity federation or RBAC
.    Experience with payment platforms, ideally Clover Gateway, or similar payment workflow integrations.
.    Strong understanding of AWS IAM, networking (VPC, subnets, security groups), encryption, and APIs.
.    Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
.    Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps practices.
.    Knowledge of security/compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, SOC2, NIST).
.    Ability to work with both senior management level executives and development teams.
.    Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
.    Professional demeanor
Desired qualifications/Non essential skills required:

. AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification (Professional is a plus).
. Experience with containers and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
. Exposure to serverless architectures or event-driven systems.
. Experience in financial services, retail, or environments requiring payment security.
. Experience with monitoring/observability tooling.
 
Other Information:   
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113,400.00 - $238,100.00.
