We are looking for an Associate to serve as a member of the Marcus US Deposits Business Controls function in Richardson (Texas) or Draper (Utah). The role will execute key control deliverables related to issues management, risk reporting and control assessments, to ensure regulatory compliance, protecting client assets, and managing risk.

Marcus US Deposits Business Controls is a first-line risk and controls management function which ensures process and controls design, controls assessment, issues management, controls monitoring and testing, risk reporting and governance.
Our primary objective is to elevate our controls environment to enable growth and scalability of the business in a well-managed way. It is a critical function to mitigate risk within Marcus US Deposits and Goldman Sachs as a whole. This function collaborates strongly with other functions in Business Controls to ensure proactive risk assessment, control design and enhancement. We are looking for people with strong analytical and quantitative backgrounds and a strong interest in financial services. We seek bright and dynamic individuals with a quantitative orientation, basic financial acumen, and fluency with risk and controls.

Perform regular updates to test plan and test scripts based on regulatory changesDesign and execute controls and regulatory testing for key controls and regulatory requirementsEnhance testing by identifying and implementing testing automation leveraging AI and data analytics tools to replace manual sample-based testingEvaluate control issues to ensure conformance to Consumer and Firm requirementsAnalyze issue root-cause and validate remediation actionsIndependently develop and implement new test scripts and exception-based monitoring reportsPerform quality monitoring on test execution Aggregate issues to identify key themes and control enhancement opportunitiesEngage with audit and risk partners to facilitate exams and monitor findingsAssess vendor risks and issues for themes, and monitor closurePerform control reviews to identify enhancement opportunitiesAdvise, challenge & inform the businesses on risk mitigation actionsLead senior management presentations on risk and control metrics and analysisCoordinate and facilitate governance routines with key executive stakeholders.Identify ways to share risk best practice across teams and functions, and with other business lines where like processes exist/there is exposure to similar riskSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field5+ years related work experienceUnderstanding of Consumer banking processes in a risk management context are requiredWorking knowledge of deposits consumer compliance regulationsExposure to qualitative and quantitative controls across financial products.Strong analytical orientation, lateral thinking, organizational, influencing skills and attention to detail.Ability to perform data analytics using metrics to identify trends and themes leverage tools e.g. Alteryx, business objects, snowflake, advanced excel etc. Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas with different levels of stakeholdersInnovative, including a keen eye for identifying areas of control enhancements Good influencing skills to challenge the status quo and enhance the control environmentSound time management skills to be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task.A mentor / coach to the juniors in the teamGood interpersonal and teamwork skills to develop strong stakeholder relationshipsThe ability to present with impact and build consensus across senior stakeholder groupsTrack record of delivering and enhancing measurable, impactful business outcomesCRCM and CIA or equivalent professional certifications preferredExperience with Tableau or other reporting/ data analytics toolsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
