As AVP, you will collaborate with business, technology, and analytics leaders to design and implement digital underwriting strategies that elevate decision quality, enhance customer experience, and drive scalable growth. You will lead initiatives to optimize underwriting tools, automation, and workflows, ensuring alignment with Chubb’s risk appetite and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute digital underwriting strategies across multiple lines of business. Drive adoption of digital tools, automation, and advanced analytics to improve underwriting accuracy, speed, and consistency. Partner with the Product Sub-Domain Lead to embed a digital vision and capabilities into new business acquisition and renewal retention processes. Collaborate with product, technology, and data science teams to implement innovative solutions throughout the policy lifecycle. Monitor performance, identify opportunities, and continuously enhance digital underwriting capabilities—including Third Party Data, Predictive Models, and Artificial Intelligence. Champion change management and best practices across the SLM organization. Partner with other sub-domains and domains to develop capabilities and tools that deliver a seamless digital customer experience and support Chubb’s tailored product solutions. Stay current on external trends and innovations within the insurance industry. In-depth knowledge of Small Commercial or Personal Lines products, underwriting practices, marketplace trends, and agency/customer buying behaviorsProven experience designing, building, and deploying front-end quoting capabilitiesBackground in Field & Distribution Management, Finance, or General BusinessStrong understanding of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), SEMCI (Single Entry Multi-Carrier Interface), predictive analytics, front-end user interfaces, and agency operationsDemonstrated ability to influence both short- and long-term business strategiesTrack record of embracing and leading teams through significant changeProven success in leading, coaching, and developing diverse teams; ability to foster an inclusive environment that leverages varied perspectivesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levelsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on prioritizing high-impact issuesAbility to combine deep business and product knowledge with leadership and influencing skills to drive alignment toward a shared visionAgile mindset: adaptable, flexible, and decisive in response to changing priorities and demandsEffective negotiation and influencing skills, leveraging data and customer feedback to persuade stakeholders
The pay range for the role is $101,000 to $188,800. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
