We are seeking an Aviation Construction Manager to join our team in Denver, CO. Must have prior experience managing aviation construction projects and/or construction staff in the western United States in an onsite role.
Your role Plans, organizes, and oversees the completion of observation and documentation activities of construction projects.Assigns, leads, and supervises project inspection staff engaged in daily observation and testing and in related record keeping. Includes but is not limited to: daily diaries, daily payment reports during progress of work, memos to contractor regarding acceptance or rejection of work, change orders, and more.Acts as Owner’s Representative for State, Federal, or local clients.Frequently communicates with client representatives, contractors, and stakeholder personnel to discuss contract requirements and coordinate efforts.Reviews contract documents, project plans, project specifications, and progress schedules and reports.Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in accordance with substantial completion provisions.Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, as well as advise internal project manager and/or owner of any failures and/or delays.Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on onsite observations and contract stipulations.Coordinates operation within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.Manages compilation of final estimate documents.Performs such assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time.About you Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field and seven years related experience including personnel supervision. Engineering design experience desirable. With Associate's degree, fifteen years of related experience. Without a degree, seventeen years related experience is required.Prior experience in independently observing the work of contractors during the construction of projects to perform Quality Assurance (QA) activities.Prior experience in construction inspection and as an onsite Supervisor or Project Manager at Denver International Airport or similar major urban airport is strongly preferred.Good mathematical, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Certification (or ability to obtain) in applicable areas of work assignments as required by clients.Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.Ability to supervise internal staff, field representatives, and field office personnel.Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl down into ditches; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain and equipment/traffic hazards.Job requires ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer.Position requires driving company vehicle. Additional informationExpected compensation range is between $110,000 - $130,000 annually/hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
