AVEVA Control Engineer
Job Description Insight Global is looking to hire an AVEVA Control Engineer for one of their clients within the Data Center management space. Day to Day responsibilities will include: Responsibilities: AVEVA System Platform & UOC Administration (Primary Focus): Install, configure, and maintain AVEVA System Platform (Application Server, Historian, OMI/InTouch) and AVEVA Unified Operations Center (UOC) Manage the Galaxy Repository, ensure object integrity, and handle version control and deployments Configure and administer UOC layers, view templates, and navigation frameworks Manage user access, security roles, and high-availability configuration across the platform Integrate and troubleshoot MQTT-based data sources and edge gateway telemetry into AVEVA Monitor platform health, diagnose issues, and maintain documentation Industrial Automation & SCADA Integration: Support and troubleshoot industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS integrations Ensure telemetry integrity from field systems into AVEVA Historian and UOC Collaborate with site engineers to validate signals and tag normalization Participate in design and commissioning of automation projects and expansions Apply cybersecurity best practices in OT environments Scenario Logic & Customization (E&AI Focus): Design and maintain scenario correlation logic for operational alerts (e.g., power loss, generator, cooling, communication) Use VB.NET, VBA, or VBScript to build and maintain runtime logic for System Platform objects Develop faceplate enhancements and auto-resolution behaviors Translate telemetry data into meaningful operational scenarios that drive real-time triage Development & Reporting: Create custom objects, templates, and scripts within AVEVA environments Develop dashboards and reports using AVEVA Reports, SSRS, or equivalent tools Optimize code and logic for performance and maintainability Support RCA workflows and KPI dashboards used by FRG and site operations Collaboration & Support: Work with cross-functional teams (IT, OT, Engineering, Security, and Operations) Train and support users in using AVEVA UOC and solution components Participate in project planning, reviews, and change control processes We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements - 7+ years hands-on experience with AVEVA System Platform and/or Unified Operations Center (UOC) - Strong Visual Basic development skills (VB.NET, VBA, VBScript) - Understanding of SCADA systems, PLC programming, and BMS/EPMS infrastructure - Experience with MQTT, OPC UA/DA, Modbus, and industrial network protocols SQL Server experience for queries and data extraction from historians - Familiarity with VM-based environments (ESXi, Hyper-V) - Experience in scenario correlation design or alarm rationalization preferred - Familiarity with LogicMonitor or other OT observability tools preferred - Exposure to Python, C#, or REST APIs for system integration preferred - Knowledge of ServiceNow integration or RCA workflows preferred - Hybrid role. Ability to travel up to 15% - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field - AVEVA certifications (System Platform, Historian, UOC) preferred - Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
