Availability and Sustainability Specialist
Overview The Availability & Sustainability Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the long-term reliability and efficiency of our production assets while advancing PepsiCo’s sustainability goals. Acting as a bridge between engineering and environmental performance, this role focuses on improving asset availability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and leading initiatives that reduce energy and water consumption. The position combines strong technical expertise with data-driven decision-making to enhance operational performance and support sustainable business growth. Responsibilities Safety & Food Safety - Promote a zero-risk safety culture within the Maintenance team, ensuring full compliance with Safety and Food Safety standards, LOTO procedures, and continuous improvement of safety KPIs. Equipment Reliability & Operational Performance - Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and reduce costs. Analyze OEE, MTBF, and MTTR data, driving RCFA/FMECA activities to eliminate recurring issues. Continuous Improvement & LEAN - Embed LEAN and QCDM principles in daily operations. Coach the team in structured problem-solving (A3) to improve plant reliability and efficiency. Digitalization & Innovation - Support the adoption of digital tools, IoT sensors, and AI-based maintenance solutions to enable data-driven performance optimization. Sustainability & Resource Efficiency - Lead projects to reduce energy and water usage, lower emissions, and improve waste management. Track sustainability KPIs (RECON, MyEHS, CBS) and support PepsiCo’s carbon reduction goals. GEHSMS Compliance - Ensure compliance with GEHSMS standards, including Contractor Management, Wastewater, Air Quality, Electrical Safety, and Spill Prevention. Performance Reporting - Develop concise dashboards and reports to monitor maintenance performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability progress. Qualifications Strong technical expertise in maintenance, reliability, and process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and translate insights into actionable improvements. Proactive problem solver, capable of identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Project management skills, including planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination of improvement initiatives. Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Collaborative team player, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ownership and initiative, demonstrating a hands-on, proactive approach to achieving operational excellence. Fluency in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
