Job Description:

Position Summary
The Trailer Repairman performs diagnostics and repair on trailer air brake systems, completes preventive maintenance inspections, and supports safe and reliable fleet operations. The role also involves welding and cutting tasks and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and test trailer air brake systems, valves, lines, and componentsPerform preventive maintenance inspections to company and regulatory standardsComplete welding and cutting tasks on structural and light metal repairsDocument findings, parts usage, and repair steps with accuracy and detailMaintain a clean and safe work area and follow all shop safety proceduresUse shop equipment and hand tools safely and effectivelyCommunicate repair status, parts needs, and timelines to leadership

Required Qualifications

Air brake system knowledge with hands on diagnostic and repair experienceOne year of automotive or fleet maintenance experienceAbility to lift up to 70 pounds and perform frequent standing, bending, and reachingAbility to furnish your own basic hand toolsHigh attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Preferred Qualifications

Commercial Driver License not required but preferredBasic welding and cutting experience with oxyfuel or MIGFamiliarity with preventive maintenance programs and documentation standards

Work Environment

Shop setting with exposure to moving vehicles, equipment, and moderate noiseUse of required personal protective equipment

Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself - Required

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position is $33.86 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions. 
 

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
