General Summary:

Qualcomm ADAS/Autonomy team is engaged in offering optimized solutions built on DSP, computer vision and machine learning algorithms for the Qualcomm ADAS/Autonomy SoCs. We are seeking engineers who can lead SoC BSP SW level functional safety Architecture.  

The job requires understanding and defining of the Safety Concept and Architecture of SoC BSP software, Software Safety requirements, defining and deploying safety processes and development of Safety software by following the ISO26262 software processes. Interaction with customers, architects and test/integration teams are required as part of the job.  The job also involves working with the safety managers and Software quality team for adherence of ISO26262 and ASPICE processes. 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

10-15 years of industry experience in embedded software, especially in the automotive domain 

Minimum 4 years’ experience in ISO26262 (Part 6 in specific) 

Experience in functional safety software architecture in Automotive Domain: Safety software architecture specification, Safety Requirements definition, safety software development 

Experience in defining Software architecture, Software Design and implementation of Embedded software for Automotive SoCs 

Ideal candidate for this position is someone who has experience in both software architecture and safety architecture with a background in design and implementation 

Good understanding of SoC architecture, ARM architecture, SoC Peripherals, low level BSP Software/drivers, RTOS 

Excellent understanding of operating systems such as Linux/QNX/RTOS 

Excellent understanding of functional safety software process, especially ISO26262 part-6  

Experience in Safety Analysis (FMEA, DFA, FTA) 

Experience in leading safety arch activities of complex SoC software. 

Experience in leading safety arch activities for ADAS/AD software 

Programming Languages: C/C++ 

Experience with complete SDLC and related processes 

Experience with tools for static analysis, code coverage 

Knowledge and experience of ASPICE /ISO26262 or equivalent Quality standards 

Knowledge of various tools and methods related for functional safety/ISO26262 (Requirements Management, Static/dynamic analysis, Safety Analysis, Safety software design, implementation, and testing) 

Knowledge and passion on Software Design and Programming 

Experience in leading stakeholder engagements within development organization, partners, and customers is highly desirable 

Experience in functional safety management in Automotive Domain: Safety software architecture specification, Safety Requirements definition, safety software development, Safety plan, Safety execution and leadership 

Good understanding of SoC architecture, ARM architecture, SoC Peripherals, low level BSP Software/drivers, RTOS 

Good understanding of software stack for ADAS/AD/Vision features 

Programming Languages: C/C++ 

Experience with complete SDLC and related processes. 

Experience with tools for static analysis, code coverage 

Knowledge and experience of ASPICE /ISO26262 or equivalent Quality standards 

Knowledge of various tools and methods related for functional safety/ISO26262 (Requirements Management, Static/dynamic analysis, Safety Analysis, Safety software design, implementation, and testing) 

Experience/exposure to SOTIF is good to have 

Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with engineers/partners/customers across different geographies. Demonstrated experience working with senior management in a corporate environment. Demonstrated experience in business process streamlining and transformation that includes disciplined approach to digitized services enabling.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Knowledge of Software Architecture and design tools and languages (UML/SysML) 

Knowledge and experience of ASPICE or equivalent Quality standards 

Functional Safety related trainings/certifications 

Experience in supporting customers/OEMs in functional safety and system safety concepts 

Experience in functional safety audits 

Experience in supporting customers/OEMs in functional safety and system safety concepts 

Knowledge and passion on Software Design and Programming
