They blend data-driven processes with hands-on sales coaching to drive showroom traffic and vehicle sales. This role exists to be the dealership’s first and most critical point of customer contact: to convert online inquiries into confirmed in-person appointments that lead to vehicle sales. The BDC Sales Closer ensures leads are responded to immediately, builds value with customers through automotive knowledge, overcomes objections professionally, and relentlessly confirms appointments to maximize “appointments shown.” The hire is intended to scale lead-to-appointment throughput and improve conversion consistency across a high-volume online pipeline.
The Impact you’ll makeLead Response & Qualification\nAnswer all incoming internet leads and sales calls within a 5-minute response window.\nQuickly qualify customer intent, timeline, trade details, and vehicle interest.\nRoute or escalate leads appropriately while maintaining ownership of appointment outcomes.\nVehicle Expertise & Value Building\nUse confident product knowledge to explain trim levels, features, packages, and technology (e.g., AWD vs 4WD, Apple CarPlay, safety features).\nBuild excitement and credibility with customers by explaining product benefits and differences.\nEducate customers on the value of an in-person visit versus price-only conversations.\nAppointment Setting & Confirmation\nFollow the proven process to convert online inquiries into confirmed, in-person appointments.\nSchedule and confirm appointments via phone, text, and email; re-confirm ahead of the appointment.\nDrive metrics for both appointments set and appointments shown through persistent follow-up.\nObjection Handling & Sales Conversion\nConfidently handle common objections (e.g., “What’s your best price?”, “Can you give me a trade value?”) and pivot conversations back to booking a visit.\nUse persuasion and consultative techniques to secure commitments without being a script reader.\nEscalate price/FSBO/complex objections to management when appropriate while maintaining appointment momentum.\nCRM Management & Reporting\nLog all interactions, notes, and appointment details accurately and in real time in the CRM.\nTrack follow-ups and next steps to ensure no lead falls through the cracks.\nMeet daily/weekly/monthly quotas and provide timely updates to the BDC Manager.\n
