We are currently seeking an Automation Tester to join our team in Heredia, Costa Rica.

Automation Tester

This role is responsible for evaluating software products to ensure they meet business standards and functional requirements. 

Position overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL, testing methodologies, and automation tools, with a passion for improving consumer experiences through high-quality software delivery.

Position's General Duties and Tasks:

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools. Isolate, reproduce, and track software defects; verify fixes and ensure resolution. Develop test data and procedures to validate software functionality and performance. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain and enhance automation frameworks and test environments. Apply judgment and discretion in prioritizing tasks and interpreting procedures.

Qualifications

Must have Skills:

2+ years of experience in software testing, including automation. Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and test setup. Solid understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle. Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.

 

 

 

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience with automation tools such as: Selenium WebDriver Postman (for API testing) TestNG or JUnit Cypress Playwright Cucumber (BDD) Git/GitHub for version control CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java). Exposure to cloud-based testing environments and containerization (e.g., Docker).

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred).
