Automation Technician
**Job Title: Automation Technician** **Job Description** Join our team as a 2nd shift Automation/Controls Technician. As an integral part of our automation team, you will ensure the smooth operation of our equipment, working closely with Automation Engineers to troubleshoot, debug, and program automated equipment. **Responsibilities** + Collaborate with Automation Engineers to maintain and improve existing equipment. + Serve as a technical expert for electrical circuits, program logic controls, and automation systems. + Develop and maintain effective maintenance specifications and preventative maintenance programs. + Participate in the design of automated machines, systems, and fixtures. + Recommend improvements for equipment and manufacturing methods. + Assist maintenance personnel with diagnosing software and electrical system problems. + Support maintenance with equipment repairs in case of failures. + Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance. + Assist with executing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for equipment changes. + Be flexible for off-shift availability and representation. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Automation Technician in a plant setting. + Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting. + Ability to read blueprints and schematics. + Experience with HMI systems and Logic Vision systems. + Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking to troubleshoot issues. + Experience with low voltage wiring (120V) and panel wiring issues. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with 480V troubleshooting. + Programming skills from scratch. + Schooling or certifications in addition to hands-on experience in an automotive plant setting. **Why Work Here?** We offer a competitive benefits package including health, vision, and dental benefits, a 401K match program, and a discount program. Join a growing, motivated team in a state-of-the-art facility. **Work Environment** Work at our newly renovated plant, transitioning equipment from Oklahoma to Michigan. The facility includes new electrical systems, CNC machinist lines, conveyors, and robotic weld cells. Initially train on 1st shift (7am - 3pm) for 2-4 weeks before moving to 2nd shift (2:30pm - 11pm). Benefit from a 50-cent shift premium for off shifts and potential overtime as production lines are set up. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
