Mesa Energy Systems is a HVAC mechanical services company that provides fully integrated solutions for preventative maintenance and repair, upgrading existing mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to provide the most efficient economic solutions to meet customer expectations. **Job Title:** Automation Technical Solutions Manager **Principal Duties and Responsibilities** Market Analysis and Strategy: + Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the building automation and controls field. + Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals and strengths, focusing on integration projects, energy projects, and specialized strategic initiatives. + Develop and implement effective market development strategies, using a solution-oriented approach, to expand our presence and enable new revenue streams. Client & Internal Team Collaboration: + Collaborate closely with account managers, estimators, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project development and execution. + Provide expert technical and commercial guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. + Help foster strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners, positioning the company as a trusted technical advisor. Strategic Opportunity Enablement: + Support identifying and pursuing strategic new business opportunities, including national accounts and projects across various geographic regions. + Assist in comprehensive job walks and detailed scope definition for key large opportunities in all branch offices. + Work collaboratively with local offices to develop and present compelling technical proposals and presentations to clients. + Provide strategic and technical support during contract negotiation phases to optimize project profitability and alignment with client needs. Innovation and Technology Leadership: + Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices in automation and controls. + Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and create innovative solutions for clients. + Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team and across departments. Team Leadership and Development: + Mentor and develop team members to enhance their technical and strategic skills and knowledge. + Help train members of our sales and technical teams to approach opportunities with a more strategic and technically grounded perspective. + Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on achieving collective success. + Provide guidance and support to team members on complex technical and commercial challenges. **Job Specifications** (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.) + Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience. + 5+ years of experience in various disciplines of the Automation Business, such as Sales, Engineering, Operations, Production, and Training + Proven track record in strategic market development, technical sales support, or project management within the automation industry. + Strong technical understanding of building automation and controls systems (DDC, BACnet, LON, Modbus). + Understanding of Mechanical Systems and the application of controls to various systems. + Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of developing innovative solutions. + Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, demonstrating strong collaboration. + Proficient in relevant software tools and technologies for automation system design and strategy. Specifically with Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
