The Automation Field Service Technician will divide their time between in-house engineering tasks and field service duties. This role involves building, wiring, and troubleshooting automated equipment, including PLC troubleshooting. Additionally, the technician will travel to customer sites to maintain, install, commission, and troubleshoot equipment.
ResponsibilitiesBuild, wire, and troubleshoot automated equipment.Perform PLC troubleshooting, specifically with Allen Bradley systems.Travel to customer sites for equipment maintenance, installation, and commissioning.Diagnose and resolve issues related to electro-mechanical equipment.Split time between in-house engineering tasks and field service assignments.
Essential SkillsProficiency in automation and PLC troubleshooting, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.Experience in electrical wiring and mechanical systems.Ability to conduct field service operations and handle installations.Experience with electro-mechanical equipment.
Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree in Automation & Robotics or a related field is preferred.1+ years of experience in Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting.1+ years of experience working with automated equipment and its electro-mechanical aspects.Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time, mostly domestically with potential occasional international travel.
Work Environment
The work environment offers a small company atmosphere with approximately 15 employees at the location. Employees are expected to wear multiple hats due to the small team size. Travel perks are provided, and all expenses during travel are covered. The company is part of a larger organization with locations in Minnesota and Colorado.
