Automation Engineer
Key Job ResponsibilitiesExecute Automation ProjectsDraft user requirement specifications for automation projectsDevelop software codes for minor process improvement projectsLiaise with equipment vendors to ensure compliance to specifications (e.g. attend kick-off meetings, Factory Acceptance tests, etc.)Direct and monitor vendor activities during site installation and commissioning to ensure system is delivered as per design documentsEnsures that the operations and activities carried out are in accordance with the duties and responsibilities for EHS as specified by Company Policy and relevant statutory provisions.Maintain Shop floor control system, MES and Automated Warehouse operationWork closely with vendor helpdesk for software related issues and propose solution if necessary.Prepare troubleshooting report, conduct training to engineering and operations personnel to prevent future occurrence.Propose and carry out corrective / preventive maintenance for control systems.Develop comprehensive Obsolescence profiles for hardware and software systems.Perform routine checks to monitor equipment operating parameters, prompt updating onto monitoring system to ensure operations are within control specifications.Propose and execute modifications to equipment, processes, and operations to improve safety, increase efficiency and align with company goals.Technical Knowledge Area:Allen-Bradley PLC's, SIMENS PLC, Mitsubishi PLC, etc.In depth knowledge of Ethernet and other network based I/O systems preferred.Expertise with FT View/SIEMENS TIA/Ignition portal is preferred.Knowledge of SAP master data, enhanced master recipe, batch control, MES and IoT platform is preferred.Experience in VMware, SAN storage and network switches is preferred.Experience in Access, VB and SQL is an advantage.Electrical & Instrumentation expertise.Project Management foundational skillsAnalytical Ability: Decision making based on accurate data.Rate the synergy of working with others.
