Automation Engineer
**Job Summary:** Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the objective of this role is to work in a team of engineers to support the daily operation of the CPS Japan concentrate plant and execute automation/digitization projects drive safety, quality and productivity in plant operation. This role is to support technical aspects of the Liquids / Dry Parts Value work-stream from a core, automation engineering-based skillset, associated with Batch, PLC and SCADA systems. **KEY** **DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:** **Prioritized Responsibilities** **% of Time** **Support Shop floor control system, building management system and ASRS (if any) operation** + Work closely with vendor helpdesk for software related issues and propose solution if necessary + Prepare troubleshooting report, conduct training to engineering and operations personnel to prevent future occurrence + Propose and carry out corrective / preventive maintenance for control systems + Develop comprehensive Obsolescence profiles for hardware and software systems. + Perform routine checks to monitor equipment operating parameters, prompt updating onto monitoring system to ensure operations are within control specifications. 30% **Execute Automation Projects** + Draft user requirement specifications for automation projects + Develop software codes for minor process improvement projects + Liaise with equipment vendors to ensure compliance to specifications (e.g. attend kick-off meetings, Factory Acceptance tests, etc.) + Direct and monitor vendor activities during site installation and commissioning to ensure system is delivered as per design documents + Ensures that the operations and activities carried out are in accordance with the duties and responsibilities for EHS as specified by Company Policy and relevant statutory provisions. 40% Take ownership and lead the development, agreement and execution of cross functional resolution plans in order to address gaps in throughput, quality, safety and environmental metrics. 20% Keep track of automation hardware and software obsolescence profiles and develop LCM plan together with automation/engineering manager for the site . 10% **QUALIFICATIONS / COMPENTENCIES / SKILLS:** + Degree in Electrical / Automation Engineering or equivalent + Language: Native Japanese and Intermediate level of English + Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word **Requirement** Working experience: + Preferable three years' experience with shopfloor system integration. Experience in Food/Beverage Processing, Bio-Tech, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, or other highly regulated industries is preferred. Technical Knowledge Area: [MUST have] + Project Management foundational skills. + PLC and SCADA skills + SQL skills [GOOD to have] + Knowledge of ERP(SAP) master data, enhanced master recipe, batch control, MES and IoT platform + Expertise with Ignition portal + Experience in VMware, SAN storage and network switches + Experience in Access, VB + Electrical & Instrumentation expertise.
