Automation Engineer

Summary: Seeking an Automation Engineer to complete electrical and automation tasks for capital projects in an industrial plant environment.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical education and experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field

Willing to travel 30-50% domestically and some internationally

Preferred Skills:

2-4 years of engineering experience

Proficiency with AutoCAD; SEE Electrical and Solidworks Electrical preferred

Experience with PLC programming standards including GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text; Rockwell and Siemens preferred

Familiarity with variable frequency drives and motion control technologies; Rockwell, Siemens, Control Techniques preferred

HMI configuration, programming, and communication; Rockwell preferred

Knowledge of controls systems network interfaces and communication protocols

Vision System configuration for measurement applications; Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise, Gocator preferred

Robotic experience with Fanuc or ABB preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Provide Electrical Engineering design including power/control circuits, schematics, layouts, component specifications, and bill of materials

Ensure designs adhere to electrical standards

Create budgetary estimates and bid packages for projects

Develop project documentation including safety assessments and training manuals

Facilitate procurement of equipment/materials

Conduct acceptance inspections on incoming equipment

Manage installation teams during modifications/installations through commissioning

Liaise between engineering teams and suppliers to ensure mutual understanding of requirements

Support projects on-site during installation/start-up phases which may include holiday/shutdown periods

 

 

 

 



Pay Details: $53.00 to $60.00 per hour
