Are you passionate about digitalization in manufacturing?
Join us on a high-profile greenfield project where you’ll help shape a brand-new department and play a key role in delivering real-time quality control and assurance through cutting-edge digital solutions.
Your new role
At API - Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Expansions we’re expanding our production facilities in Hillerød, Denmark, to support our growing product pipeline.
We’re looking for an Automation Engineer to join our project team, where you’ll help develop and maintain software and interfaces for our future API production setup—working alongside experienced engineers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Developing and reviewing interface agreements for equipment software.
• Supporting data mapping to ensure seamless integration with central IT systems.
• Maintaining and updating equipment software and interfaces.
• Understanding API production processes to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
• Contributing to the development of a data-driven architecture in close collaboration with data architects and process owners.
• Participating in the project implementation team to develop equipment software inter-faces.
Your new department
You’ll be part of the API Denmark Area, located across Gentofte, Hillerød, and Kalundborg. Here, around 500 dedicated colleagues manufacture the active ingredients for all our life-saving biotech products. Our production involves complex chemical and biotechnological pro-cesses—including cultivation, recovery, purification, and freeze-drying—requiring high levels of expertise and engagement.
While we continue full-speed production in existing facilities, we’re also building and ramping up new state-of-the-art sites to meet future demand. We’re committed to delivering the high-est quality APIs in compliance with GMP and continuously improving our processes and ways of working.
Your skills & qualifications
We’re looking for a new Automation Engineer who will enjoy working in a high-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you, ideally:
• Academic degree background in IT or Automation Engineering. You may be a recent graduate with a strong interest in production PCS systems and a readiness to learn, or you may bring hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and modifying IT/PLC/PCS systems.
• 3-5+ years' experience working with validation and qualification processes.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial communication protocols and/or familiarity with Siemens PLC solutions and interfaces.
• Experience working in a complex GMP-regulated environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
You’re a team player who enjoys learning and sharing knowledge. You’re motivated by achiev-ing results together and are eager to understand how IT and automation can enhance pro-duction processes.
