An Automation Data Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven software solutions that support operational and analytical business needs. The role emphasizes structured data manipulation, rule-based logic development, and process automation using modern programming languages and database technologies. Team members will build and maintain custom applications, automate data workflows, monitor rule performance, and ensure data quality across systems.

This function requires strong technical expertise in software development, database management, and scripting, with a focus on implementing scalable solutions that drive efficiency and insight. Collaboration with business stakeholders is essential to translate requirements into actionable logic and tools. While the role may involve some analytical interpretation, it is primarily focused on engineering solutions rather than traditional business intelligence or data science. This function is not intended for employees focused on standard reporting, dashboard creation, statistical modeling, or unstructured data analysis.

Primary Responsibilities of the Automation Data Analyst:

Design, develop, and maintain software components and data-driven applications using VB.NET, C#, SQL, and Oracle

Build and optimize rule-based logic to support operational decision-making and performance tracking

Automate data workflows and processes using scripting and development tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

Monitor and troubleshoot data loads, automation scripts, and rule execution to ensure accuracy and reliability

Conduct monthly analysis of rule performance and savings, identifying opportunities for improvement

Collaborate with business and analytics teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions

Maintain comprehensive documentation for logic, processes, and system changes to ensure transparency and continuity

Apply Agile development principles to manage tasks, iterations, and deliverables

Identify and resolve data anomalies that may impact rule logic or system performance

Continuously learn and adapt to new programming languages, platforms, and methodologies to support evolving project needs

Independently develops and maintains complex data-driven software solutions

Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve challenging problems and optimize rule logic

Recognized for expertise in structured data processing, automation, and software development

Reviews and enhances existing code and processes to improve performance and reliability

Continuously seeks innovative approaches to streamline data workflows and improve system efficiency

Required Qualifications of the Automation Data Analyst: 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience in software development or data engineering or equivalent experience

Proven experience developing production-grade applications using VB.NET and C#, including debugging and performance optimization

Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, and stored procedures, in a relational database environment (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)

Experience designing and implementing automated data workflows or scripts using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or SSIS

Experience working in an Agile development environment, including participation in sprint planning, code reviews, and iterative delivery

Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve data anomalies and ensure data integrity across systems

Proven experience maintaining technical documentation for software logic, data processes, and automation scripts

Strong understanding of software development principles, including modular design, version control (e.g., Git), and error handling

Preferred Qualifications of the Automation Data Analyst:

Experience with .NET technologies beyond VB.NET and C#, such as ASP.NET, ADO.NET, or Web/WCF Services

Experience with version control systems, especially Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests

Familiarity with data workflow tools such as SSIS, Apache Airflow, or similar ETL frameworks

Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and data manipulation

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices

Understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, lineage, and compliance

Prior experience in healthcare or regulated industries, with an understanding of data sensitivity and compliance requirements

Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with business analysts, data scientists, or operations teams
