Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add an Automation/Controls Engineering Co-Op located in our Libertyville, IL site.

Reporting to Process & Automation Engineering Team, the Intern will support PLC-based automation systems for molding, coiling and buffer integration while collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.

What a typical day looks like:

Assist with PLC testing and troubleshootingSupport FAT/SAT preparation and executionAssist with sensor, actuator, and HMI troubleshootingSupport automation documentation and architecture reviewsAssist with buffer timing logic validation and system re-testingAttend team meetings to support project work as needed

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

Junior/Senior student pursuing Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering majorBasic PLC knowledgeUnderstanding of industrial sensors, actuators, and HMIsAbility to read electrical schematics and understand control panelsBasic knowledge of automation architecture and timing/sequence logicUnderstanding of FAT/SAT testing and system validation conceptsStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork skillsPrevious manufacturing floor internship experience a plus!

Co-Op Program Requirements:

Ability to work 40 hours/week (in person) during the co-op assignmentCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 GPA

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois)$16.74 USD - $23.02 USD Hourly
