Autoclave Operator

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive vacuum bagged product from Layup department and load parts in Autoclave, utilizing space and cure temperature as resourcefully as possible.
Check all bags for leaks prior to running to ensure product quality.
Monitor and record Autoclave chart cure in and out times. Record thermocouple and vacuum hose locations. Must have working knowledge of when to vent or hold vacuum to compensate for occasional leaks in bagging material. Must be able to accurately record, organize and archive all related cure data.
Responsible for the maintenance of the Autoclave fixtures and racks as well as any wires and hoses that may need repair.
Properly prepare tools and molds for Layup.
Unbag and demold parts.
Visually check own work prior to submitting to inspection.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Must have valid forklift license.
Responsible for the accurate recording of all paperwork and labor entries associated with the position.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles changes, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements. Should have knowledge of Epicor software.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
