Auto Mechanical Assessor LEP(Fixed Term)

 

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Auto Mechanical Assessor - LEP (Fixed Term Contract) to join the Project Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Senior Trainer - LEP, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for auto electrical technicians and maintenance personnel, and carrying out regular and detailed heavy duty machine inspections. 

 Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

Train technicians on the principles of auto mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, braking systems, cooling systems, and other mechanical components of vehicles and mobile equipment used in mining operations.

Provide instruction on diagnostic techniques, tools, and equipment used to identify, assess, and repair mechanical faults in heavy-duty mining equipment and vehicles.

Deliver safety-focused training sessions on mechanical maintenance practices, hazard identification, safe work procedures, use of PPE, and preventative measures to reduce accidents and injuries.

Conduct hands-on training, workshops, and practical demonstrations of mechanical repair and maintenance techniques to build technician competence and confidence.

Ensure technicians are familiar with proper usage, maintenance, and calibration of mechanical tools and equipment.

Maintain accurate records of auto electrical training activities, including attendance, training content covered, evaluation results, and certification records. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal record-keeping standards.

Continuously reviewing and updating training programs to align with new technologies, evolving industry best practices, and changes in mechanical systems.

Ensure training programs comply with regulatory standards and company policies, while promoting a strong culture of safety and operational efficiency.

Carrying out regular and detailed heavy duty machine inspections

Inspecting heavy duty machinery before commissioning on site and make recommendations and that they meet the project standards

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

 

Full Grade Twelve (12) School CertificateDiploma in Auto Mechanical Engineering or equivalentAdvanced Certificate in Teaching Methodology will be an added advantageMinimum Three (3) years’ working experienceMust be a TEVETA Accredited Trainer/ AssessorMember of The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) & Energy Regulation Board (ERB)Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)Leadership and team management skills
