Duties Description The incumbent of this position will report to the Grants Program Administration Unit within the Office of Administration and Finance. Duties include but are not limited to the following:• Monitor active grants and conduct site visits with subrecipients to provide guidance and ensure documentation is in compliance with State and Federal guidelines.• Train and supervise subordinate staff and serve in a leadership capacity within the unit: serve on committees and workgroups; participate in the development of unit procedures and protocols.• Review and keep up-to-date on applicable federal and State grant rules and regulations.• Provide consultation and assistance to subordinate staff and subrecipients regarding federal and State grant rules and regulations.• Review single audit reports and follow-up on any deficiencies/issues noted in the report• Perform other duties and special projects as required.• Ability to speak comfortably with various group sizes and levels of professionals.• Previous audit or monitoring experience and strong writing skills are preferred.• Travel may be required (approximately 40%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required.
Minimum Qualifications REASSIGNMENT/TRANSFERCurrent New York State Division of Homeland Security and emergency Services employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Auditor 2 and are interested in reassignment; OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. If approved for transfer appointment, you may also need to meet the special requirement(s): A bachelor's degree & 24 credit hours* in accounting, auditing, or taxation. *Courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finances courses, although taken as a part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
