The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with GASB reporters, with a strong emphasis on state and local governments and higher education institutions. This individual should demonstrate a deep understanding of the operations and standards unique to these entities, including proficiency in Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, Government Auditing Standards, Uniform Guidance, and generally accepted accounting principles. This role reports directly to the Managing Principal of National Assurance.
How you’ll create opportunities in this role:
Interact and collaborate with others across all levels of the Firm and on occasion with clientsPerform the quality control review of assurance engagementsAnalyze observations and findings, perform root cause analysis, and proactively collaborate to develop process improvementsBe a technical resource for engagement teams assisting in research and consultation for the application of professional standards and generally accepted accounting principles,Assist in development and maintenance of assurance methodology and practice aids for implementation of new standards and related learning,Develop thought leadership for internal and external usersQualifications for this role:
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of experience in a public accounting environment or equivalentCPA or equivalentCurrent on professional standards, Government Auditing Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Uniform GuidanceProblem solver and solution providerSuperior verbal and written communication skillsSolid analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to communicate complex concepts to engagement teams and clientsAbility to use various assurance research products effectivelyOur approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. Wage Range for Illinois - 95,900-170,658.00 USD
Wage Range for Massachusetts - 112,700.00 -183,300.00 USD
Wage Range for Colorado - 104,300.00 -170,658.00 USD
