**Job Summary and Qualifications**
· Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
· Provides identification, prevention, evaluation, education, and follow-up plan for patients with possible hearing disorders
· Performs and interprets the following on infants, toddler and adolescent population: Brainstem auditory evoked response testing, Behavioral audiometry testing, Diagnostic distortion product otoacoustic emissions testing, Immittance testing, Video and electro nystagmography testing
· Performs and interprets the following on adolescent and adult population: Brainstem auditory evoked response testing, Video and electro nystagmography testing, Audiometric testing
· Performs canolith repositioning treatment
· Develops a follow-up plan based on the findings and risk status of the patient
· Communicates verbally and documents in written form the results of testing, the interpretation and recommendations for follow-up in a manner that is thorough, clear and timely
· Supervises Audiology students during their clinical rotations
· Inputs data into the data base to track babies at high risk for progressive or delayed onset hearing loss
· Adheres to the State Guidelines for the Newborn Infant Hearing Screening program and communicates pertinent information to the Coordinator of the Newborn Hearing Screening Program
· Provides education to parents regarding the potential effects of undiagnosed hearing loss and other topics related to hearing
· Chooses the appropriate diagnostic tests for accurate identification of hearing loss for al l ages
· Promotes Audiology services to Wesley Medical Center and the community
· Complies with all applicable laws and regulations promulgated by the government or other third parties
· Complies with policies relative to safety, infection control and risk management
· Provides formal and informal educational sessions to patients, families, physicians, health care staff, students or any other group requesting information on topics within the scope of practice
· Understands safety issues unique to a medical setting regarding safety, common medical conditions, tests and terminology that would impact audiology testing
· Performs all other duties as assigned
**What qualifications you will need**
+ · Current Audiology licensure in the state of Kansas
+ · Certification of Clinical Competence through ASHA in Audiology
+ · Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
+ · Masters of Arts or Science in Audiology Preferred
+ · Previous clinical experience Required
+ · Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
+ · Demonstrated ability to operate Audiology testing equipment-
