About this Job:
This position reports to the Attorney-Deputy General Counsel 1. This attorney serves as Attorney Supervisor for the General Law Unit of the Legal Section, Department of Transportation and Development, which is currently composed of one Attorney Supervisor, four attorneys, one paralegal, one Administrative Assistant 4, and two Administrative Coordinator 4's.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law plus four years of experience as a practicing attorney.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Analyzes, organizes, assigns, reviews, recommends, and approves tasks assigned to the General Law Unit.
+ Directs, guides, administers and supervises the attorneys, contract counsel, paralegals, and clerical staff engaged in the General Law Unit; analyzes, organizes, distributes and monitors the cases and miscellaneous legal, administrative, and clerical tasks assigned to the members of the General Law Unit, including reviews, recommendations and approvals of ongoing and completed work.
+ Assists the supervising Deputy General Counsel 1 with all aspects of DOTD's annual legislative process as directed, including recommending, evaluating, preparing, supervising, coordinating and directing drafting and preparation of DOTD's annual legislative package.
+ Prepares and monitors professional service contracts with attorneys and other professionals engaged in litigation support; reviews and approves payment of statements for services rendered and costs advanced by contract attorneys and experts.

Compensation: Special Entrance Rate (SER) There is a Special Entrance Rate of $2932.80 biweekly.
Progressive Premium Pay for hours actually worked:
0 months to less than 2 years - $1.00/hour
2 years to less than 4 years - $1.50/hour
4 years or greater - $2.00/hour
