The primary duties include representing indigent clients with criminal case(s) in Superior Court. The applicant must have a strong dedication to indigent defense. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. The Assistant Public Defender will be responsible for preparing and presenting cases at various stages, including arraignments, preliminary and pretrial hearings. The candidate must have trial experience and a strong commitment to indigent defense. Applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university, a license to practice law in the State of Georgia, and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
