Attorney 1

We are seeking a dedicated Attorney 1 to join the team of one of the largest technology companies in the world, where you will play a pivotal role in researching legal precedents, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents. This position is ideal for someone eager to gain broader experience in U.S. business immigration law.

Responsibilities

Conduct research to support legal proceedings, formulate defenses, or initiate legal actions.Review non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings.Use U.S. immigration legal knowledge to ensure daily workflow targets are met and maintain the integrity of the onsite case preparation program.Train administrators on USCIS filings, document processing, and PERM job postings.Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of legal and operational issues.Propose legal process improvement ideas to enhance quality, improve employee experience, and streamline workflow.Complete remote and onsite legal reviews of filings.Address legal questions related to I-9 completion and E-Verify.Support complex E-Verify issue resolution.Assist managers in understanding PERM requirements and obligations.Respond to emails from visa-dependent employees regarding visa eligibility, travel, and maintenance of status.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law.Juris Doctor degree from a credible university and admission to the bar.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in business immigration law is preferred.Familiarity with complex E-Verify issues and resolution.Customer service skills.

Work Environment

This role requires working onsite 5 days a week in a large, fast-paced professional office setting located in Redmond, WA. The standard work schedule includes core hours from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of 5 hours of overtime per week. The role is hybrid, with the possibility of extension based on performance and budget. Equipment such as a laptop, mouse, headset, and computer monitors will be provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $52.00/hr.
