Job Summary

The Massachusetts General Brigham Department of Medicine Division of Palliative Care & Geriatric Medicine is seeking an Attending Physician trained in Palliative Medicine interested in a career in academic medicine.

The successful candidate will have clinical training and experience in Palliative Medicine with experience working in the acute care hospital and/or ambulatory care setting. The position is for an attending physician who will provide care in the ambulatory clinic and/or hospital-based inpatient service, inclusive of emergency department, inpatient consult service, and inpatient palliative care unit settings.

The MGB AMC Division of Palliative Care, Aging & Geriatric Medicine holds at our core the importance of building an interprofessional team who are trained to deliver high-quality care. We are seeking candidates with a clear commitment to equity, mentorship, and professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to promote and participate in a collaborative relationship with other health care professionals, serve as a role-model for professional medical practice in the management of patients with complex disease and care needs, and proactive engagement in the teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners. Although several years of experience would be advantageous, less experienced candidates with exceptional clinical and academic potential will also be considered.


 

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities.  Suitable candidates will have a Doctor of Medicine degree, and eligible for Board Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
