Athletic Trainer
Amergis
The Athletic Trainer evaluates and guides individuals in recovering from or preventing athletic-related injuries and illnesses, while supporting optimal physical performance. Their primary focus is on preventing musculoskeletal injuries and promoting upstream care through early intervention strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
+ State Athletic Training licensure, certification and/or registration (All states except CA)
+ Proficiency in therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques
+ Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
+ Must have current CPR certification
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

Day to Day Duties:
The covering trainer would arrive around 2:30 to prepare for athlete injury evaluations and treatments.
Treatments are from 3:00 - 3:30 and then cover practices and games
On non-game days the person would stay until 5:30
On game days the person would stay until competitions are over for the night.
Most games will be in the first two weeks of May.
The covering athletic trainer will not be responsible for traveling with any of the teams for away games, only covering home games.
Our trainer uses a Google form for athletes to sign in for treatments each day. All treatments are documented into final forms for communication with parents and coaches.
Our current trainer would be sure to meet with the covering athletic trainer to show them where everything is in her office and the expectations for the kids while being treated as well as how to document on final forms.
