As our Athletic Club Supervisor, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role—keeping operations running smoothly, motivating your team, and setting the tone for fun, safe, and high-energy experiences every day.
Responsibilities / Essential Duties
• Provide direct supervision of Athletic Club staff, facility sanitation, and the member experience.
• Lead, mentor, and train staff during daily operations to ensure quality service and adherence to standards.
• Serve as a role model, always maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
• Instruct group fitness classes and maintain a lively class schedule for members.
• Manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage across facilities.
• Enforce Athletic Club rules, policies, and safety standards consistently.
• Respond promptly to issues and prioritize the safety of members, guests, and staff.
• React calmly and effectively to emergencies; administer emergency care and lead until EMS arrives.
• Complete required daily reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate inventory of fitness, sanitation, locker room, coffee service, and emergency supplies.
• Assist with department special events and support Athletic Club programming.
• Provide recommendations to the Athletic Club Manager for improvements in operations, training, staffing, policies, and procedures, and assist with implementation.
• Work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fitness, health, and wellness operations with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Proven ability to lead effectively in daily operations and emergencies.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to react competently, calmly, and decisively while guiding staff during emergencies.
• Certified Personal Trainer and/or Group Fitness Instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA) preferred.
• Experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor preferred.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around facilities for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when handling supplies or equipment.
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor recreational environments, including pool areas.
