Job Title: Associate Technical Trainer (Telecom/Data Center)

Job Description

The Associate Technical Trainer works as part of a corporate university team to deliver high-volume technical training to adult learners in a telecommunications and data center environment. This is a 100% in-person, onsite contract role with the possibility of extension, where you will spend at least 75% of your time each week delivering instruction based on a pre-defined training program. You will collaborate closely with fellow trainers and subject matter experts to support the deployment of next-generation infrastructure technologies, while consistently modeling professionalism, ideal behavior, and excellence.

Responsibilities

Facilitate employee training and onboarding using approved training materials and standardized curricula.Deliver technical instruction through lectures, hands-on activities, labs, and various assessments to support different learning styles.Provide remediation, coaching, and individual support to students to ensure they achieve defined learning outcomes.Consult and collaborate with other trainers, managers, leadership, and stakeholders to align training with operational needs.Track, compile, and analyze collected data to produce accurate training reports and metrics.Document employee performance, progress, and outcomes of training in accordance with established procedures.Review, test, and provide detailed feedback on training materials to improve clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness.Prepare, organize, and maintain training facilities, including daily cleaning, setup, and equipment readiness.Stay current on the latest data center tools, telecommunications technologies, and infrastructure best practices.Coordinate and monitor learner enrollment, training schedules, and the allocation of equipment and resources.Develop and coordinate training schedules to accommodate multiple classes, cohorts, and operational priorities.Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and feedback sessions with learners and stakeholders.Support the conceptualization, design, and development of new training materials and learning resources.Communicate training needs, available courses, and online resources to learners and leadership as appropriate.Participate in mentorship and professional development opportunities provided by Senior Trainers.Explain complex, difficult, or sensitive information in a clear and respectful manner to diverse audiences.Travel as needed to support training delivery at additional sites or locations.

Essential Skills

3–6 years of experience in a technical field such as telecommunications, data centers, electrical, or similar trades.Demonstrated ability to explain complex tasks and concepts to others, for example through prior experience as a field lead, peer mentor, or trainer.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical content clearly and confidently.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with various levels of management and diverse teams.Solid organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset and a strong attention to detail.Willingness to obtain telecommunications industry certifications, such as BICSI, within the first 12 months of employment.High school diploma or equivalent education.Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a corporate training environment.Ability to work 100% onsite in a training facility and travel as needed.Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience delivering or supporting technical training programs in telecommunications, data centers, or related fields.Experience in training development, corporate learning, or human resources environments.Familiarity with data center tools, infrastructure components, and best practices.Experience coordinating enrollment, schedules, and training logistics for multiple cohorts.Ability to assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and learner feedback.Experience documenting performance outcomes and creating data-driven training reports.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus and should be noted on the resume.Openness to mentorship from Trainers and commitment to continuous professional development.Comfort working within a structured corporate university framework and following standardized training programs.Willingness to disclose any use of AI tools during the application and interview process, in alignment with the organization’s preference for human-centered evaluation.

Work Environment

This role is based 100% onsite in a corporate university training facility that supports telecommunications and data center operations. You will work closely with a team of trainers and subject matter experts in a collaborative, professional environment focused on deploying next-generation infrastructure technologies. The work involves frequent use of computers, Microsoft Office applications, and training equipment, as well as hands-on labs and practical demonstrations. You will spend at least 75% of your time each week actively delivering in-person instruction to adult learners. The environment emphasizes professionalism, clear communication, and continuous improvement of training content and delivery. Training facilities require daily setup and cleaning, and you will help ensure classrooms, labs, and equipment remain organized and ready for use. Occasional travel may be required to support training at other locations. A professional appearance and demeanor are expected while working onsite.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
