Associate Software Engineer 

Proofpoint is looking for someone to fill an Associate Software Developer role, with demonstrated working knowledge on the ASP.NET MVC stack, to help design and implement an application for the management of specific Microsoft Azure objects across a multi-tenant environment. An individual who excels at this role can translate stakeholder requirements into deliverables, formulate creative solutions to meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members to problem-solve in a bold, new development space.

The ideal Associate Software Developer, for Proofpoint, has a deep understanding of what makes web applications attractive and usable. From the early stages of design sketches to the final sprints of user acceptance testing, this individual exuberates motivation, flexibility, and enthusiasm. As the development of a new solution requires frequent out-of-the-box thinking, this individual will also relish purposeful and consistent communication with team members and stake holders to overcome unique challenges. Furthermore, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet sprint deadlines is a must. An important value for all Proofpoint candidates to harness is being a security-minded individual. This means understanding cybersecurity concepts and being able to adapt programs and processes to monitor and prevent threats. Therefore, having experience in cybersecurity process, programs, and terminology is extremely important. 

Candidates who have experience or knowledge in applications such as Microsoft Security and Compliance are preferred. 

The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of the following: 

Object-oriented programming and design patterns 

NET/C# - 2 years minimum of work experience (or similar). 

Bootstrap/CSS - 2 years minimum of work experience (or similar). 

JavaScript - 2 years minimum of work experience (or similar). 

Attention to detail when translating user requirements and actionable code. 

Git processes and best practices. 

Demonstrable AI/ML experience. 

Experience working in Microsoft Azure (or similar). Please be prepared to deliver a portfolio of your previous projects upon request. For example: 

Code written for web applications. 

Code written mobile applications. 

Video game design or programming examples.

Mock-ups related to UI design. 

Anything else related to programming, project management, or design.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 108,080.00 - 169,840.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 90,580.00 - 142,340.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 81,130.00 - 127,490.00 USD
