Job Characteristics: In this entry level position, the employee's primary duty is to write code that meets project requirements and complies with documentation and design standards. Assists in writing the standard documentation used to translate project needs into software design specifications. Assists in correcting defects found through QA software testing and systems testing. Learns about roles played by software engineers in higher grades. Activities contribute to reliable code and documentation.
Education/Work Experience: Typically requires a degree and fewer than 2 years experience; or no degree and 6 years combined education and equivalent work experience (typically 1 year experience = 1 year education).
Independence Level/Reports to: Works under supervision on assigned tasks or portions of projects. Typically reports to Security Manager or more senior technical leader.
