The ESGNR Software Team develops and maintains real-time operational software for a United States Navy submarine navigator. The software written by this team serves to meet mission requirements by integrating sensor data, implementing estimation and control algorithms and interfacing with other subsystems. The team is responsible for the design, code implementation, testing and documentation of the software. The position involves working closely with GNC engineers to understand the algorithms implemented in the code.

Position Responsibilities:

Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of real-time software designs and interfaces

Implement navigation algorithms in source code

Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

Deploys software processes and tools

Troubleshoots software issues

Works collaboratively and under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance

1+ years of experience in real-time software development

1+ years of experience programming in C/C++

1+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)

1+ years of experience in software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Experience with software lifecycle practices, agile methodology, and repositories, such as JIRA and Git

Experience developing in Linux and Windows environments

Mathematical background, particularly pertaining to navigation systems

Experience with real-time software architecture, development, design

Experience with Cloud (AWS) environment and containers

Travel:

Less than 10%

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Associate Level: $92,650 - $125,350
