Key responsibilities

As a Project Manager (m/f/d) for Modular Systems in Energy Technology, you will be responsible for quotations and deliveries of customer-specific solutions and manage these projects for customers in the German market.

Solutions can include gas- and air-insulated switchgear, including ancillary systems such as transformers, low-voltage and cable systems, or even complete building solutions.

In this exciting role, you can also incorporate your sales affinity into project management, achieving the best results for ABB and the customer.

The work model for the role is: hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)

You will be mainly accountable for:

Technical and commercial contract clarification with the customer, as well as responsibility for risk assessment based on calculations and technical drawings

Analysis of the specifications and feasibility review, preparation of offers, selection of suitable suppliers (internal and external), and processing of customer orders, as well as project structuring for orders with complex scope of delivery

Close collaboration with sales, the customer, production, purchasing, and the project management team

Schedule management of individual process steps and cost management during project execution - reporting to management or business unit management in the event of risks or major deviations in the project

Reporting on the progress of the completed project as part of the project review

Responsibility for the overall project and support of internal and external customer acceptances

Organization and monitoring of assembly and commissioning on site

Identification and follow-up of potential customers directly on-site at the customer or on construction sites with the aim of winning follow-up projects

Qualifications for the role

Completed degree in electrical engineering - ideally with a focus on energy technology. Alternatively, a master craftsman/technician qualification supplemented with construction site experience

Several years of professional experience in project management (including construction site experience) or project sales, ideally in the energy supply and distribution sector

Experience in commissioning medium/low-voltage technology is an advantage

Fluent written and spoken German and English skills

Proficient in MS Office applications and SAP

Solution-oriented thinking and action, a structured approach, and the ability to communicate confidently at various levels
