About the role: 

The Associate Product Manager, Institutions has responsibility for developing and delivering a comprehensive and integrated set of products and commercial plans to drive success for the product(s) assigned to them. Their main responsibility will be to deliver long-term value by solving customer problems using an integrated development framework and developing products across courseware to support the needs of the Institutional segment. This position, working in conjunction with members of the team, and with a keen understanding of the competitive/market landscape and customers’ needs, develops and executes the strategic direction and vision for the products within his or her remit.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Supports on the development and implementation of the strategy for the assigned portfolio to address the entire user journey addressing each end users' needs and anticipating future needs. Develops plans for products with a digital-first simplified view of global solutions. Working with customer research and sales teams to understand and articulate customer needs and collate problems into jobs to be done. Keeps an eye on emerging trends and new technologies integrating them into the product models as appropriate. In conjunction with a Product Manager, defines product direction to meet customer needs with an integrated view of the institutional consumer spanning learning, assessment, tutoring and other services.  In conjunction with a Product Manager, defines overall product direction, using product lifecycle methodology and agile best practices aligning it with the overarching ELL strategy and portfolio level plans. Collaborates with platform, assessment, and content development teams to set clear requirements around capabilities and content required for the product. Executes delivery plans within timeline and budget. Ensure strong governance practices are in place for project to highlight success and manage risk to delivery. Responsible for communication of development progress to internal and external stakeholders.  Builds business cases and collaborate on the creation of the commercialization plans working closely with finance, marketing, and others to develop the plans. Deeply understands customer behavior and revenue/cost drivers as it relates to the overall profitability.  Collaborates with marketing, sales, and solution development to develop strategies and execute tactics to drive product adoption and success.  Monitors ongoing performance of products. Evaluate product performance and customer feedback and provide insight to product/content/platform development teams to refine future product releases and roadmap decisions. Partners with the sales and support teams to drive fidelity of implementation, including product training, customer support and customer implementation resources. Understands the competitive landscape for the institutional segment and emerging market trends 

 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education. Experience in educational product management or educational technology. Experience in agile product management methodologies. Experience collaborating with internal staff, freelance writers and editors. Solid commercial and technical acumen, with the ability to navigate efficiently in a complex, highly matrixed organization. Knowledge of digital learning design practices. Ability to build relationships across departments to lead, engage and motivate the team to get the best results. Ability to deal with ambiguity while meeting deadlines. Ability to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines while remaining pragmatic and focused on results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Available to attend in-person meetings at the office, as previously agreed with the area leadership.
