The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. NBC News is seeking an Associate Producer to assist in all aspects of production of long-form content for Dateline. Responsibilities: + Contribute to the production of original content for air, including story development + Aid in extensive editorial research + Conduct pre-interviews and on-camera interviews + Participate in shooting, fact-checking, and editing, as directed + Produce show segments, as needed, under the direction of the Senior Producer + Coordinate with technical, operations staff and external resources + Significant travel for booking, productions, and attending trials PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.  + At least 3 years of editorial production experience for a network or cable operation + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience + Must have a journalism background + Proficient in Outlook and iNews + Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice + Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume + Must be willing to work in Los Angeles Desired Characteristics:   + Some shooting experience + Ability to shoot both breaking news and documentary style b-roll + Some familiarity with video editing + Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events + Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment + Strong interpersonal skills + Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments Additional Requirements: + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
