Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

NBC News is seeking an Associate Producer to assist in all aspects of production of long-form content for Dateline.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the production of original content for air, including story developmentAid in extensive editorial researchConduct pre-interviews and on-camera interviewsParticipate in shooting, fact-checking, and editing, as directedProduce show segments, as needed, under the direction of the Senior ProducerCoordinate with technical, operations staff and external resourcesSignificant travel for booking, productions, and attending trials

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

QualificationsAt least 3 years of editorial production experience for a network or cable operationBachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experienceMust have a journalism backgroundProficient in Outlook and iNewsWillingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short noticeMust be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resumeMust be willing to work in Los Angeles

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:  

Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months  Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment  Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment 

Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
