About the Role We are seeking an Associate Director or Associate Principal-level Consultant to support the selling and lead the delivery of cutting‑edge AI projects in the Life Sciences R&D space, with a core focus on Clinical Development Optimization. You will play a critical role in shaping client engagements and operationalizing the delivery of AI‑enabled solutions, including hands‑on execution of IQVIA’s next generation of foundation AI simulation capabilities. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for someone who enjoys translating ambitious AI visions into practical, high‑impact client solutions, working closely with data scientists, engineers, and domain experts. You will work in close partnership with Principals, owning day‑to‑day execution while contributing to the growth and evolution of IQVIA’s AI consulting capabilities in Pharma R&D. Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Business Development Support and contribute to the sales cycle, including opportunity shaping, proposal development, client presentations, and solution design. Act as a day‑to‑day trusted partner to client stakeholders in Pharma and Life Sciences organizations. Help identify and develop new opportunities across Clinical R&D, particularly where AI‑driven simulation and optimization can deliver tangible value. Contribute to the selling and delivery of novel, first‑in‑class AI projects, including solutions that are still being built and require close collaboration with clients. Support the development of clear, compelling client narratives around IQVIA’s newest AI solutions and systems. Project Leadership & Delivery Lead the hands‑on delivery of AI/ML projects focused on clinical development simulation, leveraging real‑world data (RWD), clinical trial data, omics, and other structured and unstructured data. Own day‑to‑day project execution, ensuring high quality, on‑time delivery, and strong client satisfaction. Coordinate and guide cross‑functional project teams, including data scientists, engineers, clinicians, and consultants. Actively contribute to and support the development and application of IQVIA’s foundation model initiatives, translating them into client‑ready solutions. Design and help implement scalable, high‑performance AI solutions using state‑of‑the‑art analytical techniques and platforms. Work closely with third‑party technology partners to support successful delivery across the AI and cloud technology stack. Capability & Practice Contribution Contribute to the evolution of IQVIA’s AI Life Sciences consulting offerings, providing delivery‑driven feedback to shape repeatable solutions. Support mentoring and development of junior consultants and technical team members on projects. Participate in thought leadership activities such as client workshops, internal capability building, and selected external presentations or publications. Help foster an agile, collaborative, and impact‑driven delivery culture within project teams. Ideal Candidate Profile Must‑Haves 5–8+ years of experience in Consulting, AI, Data Science, or Digital Transformation. Strong experience delivering complex, analytics‑ or AI‑driven projects in client environments. Strong familiarity with AI/ML techniques (supervised, unsupervised, generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI, etc.). Domain experience in Life Sciences, preferably Pharma R&D, Clinical Trials, or Clinical Operations. Experience working directly with senior client stakeholders and supporting strategic discussions. Proven ability to lead project teams and drive execution in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments. Strong ownership mindset and bias toward action. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience at a top‑tier consulting firm. Exposure to regulatory and data governance considerations in clinical data (e.g., HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11). Experience with Real‑World Evidence (RWE), trial optimization, or biomarker‑related use cases. Familiarity with cloud and AI platforms such as AWS, Azure ML, Databricks, and foundation model ecosystems (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude). Exposure to agentic AI tools and modern AI development workflows.
