ASSOCIATE NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Associate Network Administrator supports network and communication. Examples of network and communication systems are (but not limited to): Data switch/router, data cabling, Wi-Fi Controller & Access Points, Cisco CallManager, CCX, Unity and paging, cellular systems/phones, Hill Rom Nurse Call System, UPS Battery Systems, and other systems as assigned. This position is a contact point for network and communication related to contractors/vendors and oversees maintenance of said systems. This position will include the monitoring of network and communication contracts and bills. The Associate Network Administrator works under the direction of the Senior Network Administrator and the Director of Information Technology. The position will participate in the maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for the network resources administration.

The Associate Network Administrator monitors and tests network performance and prepares statistical reports. This position will participate in the evaluation, selection, development, and integration of new network systems and applications. Keeping of a component inventory and related documentations of technical specifications is also an important aspect of this position. This position requires an understanding of how to make the most out of the current systems and how new technology can improve patient care and the goals of both the Business User and MHHC. Continued education in your field is expected. You will need to maintain current certifications and learn new technologies in networking and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Professional/Educational Bachelor degree preferred with a major in Computer Science, Networks, Telecommunications or something similar. Healthcare experience preferred. Experience with configuring network gear, wireless access points, and VOIP phone systems. Experience with Cisco networks required. Networking certifications;CCNA, CompTIA Network + preferred. Experience working with network and communication vendors preferred. Project management experience a plus.

Possess superior human relation skills. Strong troubleshooting skills required. Excellent customer service. Able to manage small project teams. Ability to lead a workgroup including training, assigning, and monitoring work. Ability to effectively manage workload including planning, organizing, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and paying attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.    

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
