We are seeking a highly motivated and teachable Associate Investigator to join our Crop Health Discovery & Development team. This role supports research activities related to foliar and soilborne pathogens, contributing to the development of innovative synthetic and biological fungicide solutions. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative R&D environment.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct laboratory and greenhouse experiments involving foliar and soilborne organisms, applying established protocols accurately.Prepare and maintain cultures, media, and experimental materials under sterile conditions.Support troubleshooting and optimization of experimental procedures; identify issues and escalate appropriately.Work closely with scientists and other associates to ensure timely completion of research objectives; communicate clearly with peers and supervisors.Adjust to new methods and shifting priorities in a fast-paced research environment.Collect, record, and manage experimental data with accuracy and integrity.Maintain laboratory safety standards and compliance with pathogen handling protocols.What Skills You Need:
Education:
B.S. in Plant Pathology, Biology, Soil Science, Plant Biology, or related field.Skills & Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and adapt to changing priorities.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Effective communication skills (oral and written).Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic research environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with plants and plant pathogens.Experience with laboratory bioassays and greenhouse trials.Familiarity with aseptic techniques and handling of plant pathogens.Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
