The team you will be a part of The Product Design team designs, validates and brings new products to market.; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Collaborates with internal partners to optimize designs for manufacturability. Uses CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.This role in summary
This opportunity is best suited to an entry level, creative-thinking, industrial designer, with experience working within a Product Development environment and can design solutions with genuine customer value in mind, while aligning with our brands positioning. Tasked with being the voice for our customer, you will be responsible for providing a continuous stream of innovative, useful, and beautiful products that support and enhance the competitiveness of our brand.
Your responsibilities will includeParticipate in defining and endorsing cros-category project parameters
Ensure a variety of conceptual design alternatives are presented to satisfy user needs
Create aspects of form, aesthetics, and interfaces between users and products
Generate appropriate documentation to satisfy project criteria into the Whirlpool process.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to effect to deliver the complete Design package
Help to create and ensure the implementation of the Visual Brand Language within projects
Generate images and renderings to help communicate the design intent across the company
Create the Color, Material and Finish documentation according to the CMF guidelines
Follow-up on DTV (design-to-value) initiatives to ensure product quality and competitiveness during life-cycle
Create, submit and follow-up prototype builds along our modelshop team
Ability to create strong story-telling presentations
Minimum requirementsBachelor's degree in Industrial Design from an accredited school
1-3 years of design experience in a corporate or consultant environment
3D Computer modeling skills (Solidworks, CREO or Rhino 3D)
Strong project management and planning skills
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines (advance english is a must)
Strong decision-making abilities and self-motivation
Adaptability and flexibility to change as designs and processes improve over time
Strong 2D digital and analog visualization skills. (Photoshop, Illustrator and similars)
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, especially with metal and plastic parts
Good understanding of electronics, light-guided interfaces and behavior-specs
Good understanding of AI tools, such as Midjourney, Gemini and Stable Diffusion

This position is located at Joinville, the largest city in Santa Catarina state and an important industrial, financial and commercial center of the south region of Brazil. Here in this factory is centered the production of refrigerators, freezers, dryers, water purifiers and B.Blend machines. Also, here it's the base of the global product research and development team in Brazil for the refrigeration, air conditioning, water purifiers, cooking and eletronic areas.
